Not all machines can run windows 8. There is a system requirement which says there should be 1GHz or a much faster processor, the RAM should be of 1 GB for a 32 bit and 2GB for 64 bit OS versions. The hard-disk should be a 16 or a 20 GB depending on 32 or 64 bit OS. The devise should be of 1024×768 minimum screen resolution and it should have a directX9 graphics with WDDM 1 or a higher driver.
The released preview looks very much similar to the windows 7.5 operating system that is running on the windows phones. Coming to the Apps, the apps that will be available in the developers preview will be made available for free. Other paid apps will be released once the os is completely built and is available in the market for sale.
